This week, Alina Ibragimova makes her debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra conducted by Otto Tausk to perform Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1. In an interview with The Georgia Straight Magazine Alina said:
"When you live with a piece for many years, you have your own interpretation of it, and that changes with everything that you live through yourself,” she explains. “So works like this are, in a way, our best friends.”
Performances will be at the Orpheum Theatre Vancouver on Saturday 7th March, and a chamber ensemble of Vancouver Symphony Orchestra musicians at Christ Church Cathedral on Monday 9th March, both as part of BeethovenFest.
